Hand Blown and Hand Painted World Landmark Christmas Ornaments
Glass ornaments originated in Germany about 150 years ago
where Christmas decoration and religious traditions were strong.
Artisans in Poland and Czechoslovakia followed the lead of their
German neighbors and began creating their own distinctive ornaments.
During the Communist era the craft of glass blowing was almost
totally destroyed. These ornaments, not created in traditional
designs but in the form of well known world landmarks, the Statue
of Liberty, the Empire State Building and the Eiffel Tower, speak
of the political freedom and new entrepreneurial spirit that has
helped spark a resurgence in glass blowing. Each ornament is hand-blown
and hand-painted in Germany. These beautiful painstakingly created
ornaments would surely be a distinctive addition to any tree.
Each comes packaged in its own box.
