Lucky Strike Country Store Folding Chair
There was a time when shopping was a leisurely and sociable
activity. Neighbors would gather at the General Store, pick up
necessities for the day and spent a few minutes chatting and catching
up on local news. Frequently companies would provide wooden folding
chairs with a metal advertising sign promoting their products.
The chairs encouraged patrons to linger and perhaps find something
else to buy. A General Store in western Maine was the source of
this wonderful Lucky Strike Cigarettes folding chair. This wooden
country store chair has a piece of green corrugated metal secured
over the round wooden slats of the chair back. There is a paper
image of a pack of Lucky Strike cigarettes on the metal. The chair
is in very nice condition, showing signs of normal wear. The metal
sign is slightly discolored and the paper is worn. (Click for detail)
