A Selection of Salesmen's Samples Tin Advertising Signs
We offer a selection of Sample Nicolene Signs made by the
Kemper-Thomas Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. The Tetley Tea sign
is the most expensive as it requires the use of special plates
to bring out the details of the intricate design. A minimum order
of 10,000 was necessary for signs requiring the special plates.
The McGill Sign was printed in three colors as was the Cortley
sign. The Taxi, Wagner's Ginger Ale and Ambulance signs are "stock"
signs with the borders already printed. The ad was printed in
one color, black.
This lithographed tin over cardboard sign features a red background
with gold, silver and black lettering. It is advertising McGill
Precision Ball Bearings - Bronze Retainers/McGill Manufacturing
Co., Valparaiso, Indiana. The sign measures 9.75" x 11.5".
A few minor scrapes and small amounts of paint loss, otherwise
