T. T. Balcom Woodblock Print
T. T. (?) Balcom, a WPA artist, has created a wonderful
woodcut print which evokes an air of defeat and disappointment.
Four men have stopped along the road to share a meal, their caravan
beside them. Although they share each other's company, the woodblock
technique, with its strong line and sharp forms, intensifies their
somber mood. It is signed in pencil lower right T. T. Balcom '29,
and signed Balcom in the plate. Sight measures 9.5" wide
x 11" high. Framed piece measures 14.5" wide x 16.5"
high.
