Original Etchings by Samuel Colman
Samuel Colman (1832-1920) was an American painter born in
Portland, Maine. He was a founder and the first president (1866)
of the American Water-color Society. He was associated with the
Hudson River School. Although he is best known for his landscapes
the examples we have are of European sites.
