A Treatise on the Science of Muscular Action by John Pugh
is a magnificent facsimile reprint of a 1794 London publication
reissued by Editions Medicina Rara in London in the 1960s. 2800
copies were produced. This copy is one of the deluxe copies bound
in full leather and limited to 300; this one numbered LIV. It
comes in a fine box lined with red felt. There is some discoloration
of the slipcase. There is an engraved additional title-page with
illustrated vignettes and 15 full-page plates each in 2 states.
This 18th Century Treatise made a significant contribution to
medical art by introducing the new therapeutic treatment of physiotherapy.
