Sports Pulp Magazines
Sports have played a large part in virtually everyone's life
either as a participant or spectator. Although baseball was the
dominant sport in the 1940's and 1950's other sports were gaining
popularity. We have a small offering of baseball and general sports
magazines. Each issue of Ten Story Sports contained ten articles.
There was always a baseball story, but golf, boxing, football,
hockey, and horse racing were represented as well. There were
a variety of stories including humorous articles, a novelet, and
factual features. Baseball Stories included Fact and Fiction short
stories and book-length features. Complete Sports also contained
"10 smashing action stories" in full-length novels,
novelets and short stories. Super Sports contains 132 pages of
sports novels and short stories. Because these pulps were printed
on poor quality paper they have ragged edges, cover folds, chips
and nicks.
