A Widow and Her Friends by C. D. Gibson
A Widow and Her Friends drawn by Charles Dana Gibson
This is the sixth book in the regular series of Mr. Gibson's
published drawings. Each volume contains eighty-four of Mr. Gibson's
best cartoons. New York: R. H. Russell, London: John Lane 1901.
Large format book measures 17.25" wide x 11.25" tall.
The Gibson Girl came to characterize the epitome of elegance and
beauty at the turn of the 20th century. The captions accompanying
each picture are clever and urbane with a hint of irony thrown
in for good measure. Spine is shaken but still attached. There
are stains on the cover and title page. Some signs of damp stains
on lower right corner on some plates. Most plates are clean. (Stock
number 003Widow) $150.00
