1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition Plate
Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition: Seattle 1909 This
wonderful Staffordshire plate by The Rowland & Marsellus Co.
was designed and imported by Spelger & Hurlbut, Seattle, Wash.
It portrays Mount Rainier, Princess Angeline, Snoqualmie Falls,
and the Alaska Building. The center motif features three women.
The Asian woman in a sunflower kimono holds a model of a ship
and the woman in white holds flowers. Unfortunately we do not
know the significance of this image. The plate measures 10"
in diameter. There are no chips or cracks. (Stock number 003wf09-0326a)

is another wonderful Staffordshire plate by The Rowland &
Marsellus Co. designed and produced in Staffordshire England for
The Bon Marche, Seattle, Wash. The center motif features three
women. The Asian woman in a sunflower kimono holds a model of
a ship and the woman in white holds flowers. This is surrounded
by vignettes of Mount Rainier near Seattle 14,520 feet high, Agricultural
Building A.Y.P. Exposition, Pioneer Square & Totem Pole, Academy
of the Holy Names, Snoqualmie Falls, and the Seattle Water Front.
The plate measures approximately 10" in diameter. There

motif rims the plate. It was manufactured in England for The
Bon Marche, Seattle, Washington by Adams Tunstall. The plate
measures approximately 8.5" in diameter. There are no chips
or cracks but the color is rubbed in several spots. (Stock number

marvelous German manufactured souvenir plate was made exclusively
for M. Seller & Company Seattle, Wash. The center motif features
three women. The Asian woman in a sunflower kimono holds a model
of a ship and the woman in white holds flowers. They are surrounded
by images of Washington State Building, A.Y.P.E. Seattle, Manufactures
Building, A.Y.P.E. Seattle, Auditorium Building, A.Y.P.E. Seattle,
Machinery Building, A.Y.P.E. Seattle, Agricultural Building, A.Y.P.E.
Seattle, and the Fine Arts Building, A.Y.P.E. Seattle. The plate
measures approximately 9" in diameter. There are no chips
or cracks but some of the gold trim has been rubbed off. (Stock
