Philadelphia Centennial Exposition 1876 Sewing Boxes


Mauchlinware sewing boxes were among the most popular souvenirs at the Centennial Exposition held in Philadelphia in 1876. These light colored wooden boxes featured a transfer picture and finished interiors.

This octagonal box features an image of Independence Hall, Philadelphia and a decal that says "Centennial 1876." It is lined with red paper. Click to view interior. It measures 4.5" wide x 3.25" high x 2" deep. It is slightly warped so that the cover does not fit snugly. There are some scratches on the cover. (Stock number 003wf0210c) $125.00 SOLD
