1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition Poster
Fabulous poster reads: "In Remembrance of the One Hundreth
Anniversary of the Independence of the United States." The
eighteen presidents who served from the beginning of the Republic
to 1876 are pictured; Washington to Grant. Independence Hall
and Faneuil Hall are pictured at the upper left and right respectively,
with the Bunker Hill Monument depicted in the center. "The
Struggle for Liberty" and "Peace and Prosperity"
are pictured in the bottom left and right respectively. A view
of the Centennial Exhibition Buildings, Philadelphia are also
illustrated. The last two lines of the Star Spangled Banner appear
as well. Also illustrated are Israel Putnam, Philip Schuyler,
Horatio Gates, Nathaniel Greene, Benjamin Lincoln and John Sullivan.
20" x 30" Water stains along the right portion of
the piece, paper loss on top edge, yellowed paper. Printed on
heavy paper. Despite its condition it is a wonderful piece of
