World's Columbian Exposition 1893 - Beaded Metal Purse
Exquisite World's Columbian Exposition souvenir metal beaded
purse with an embossed cover depicting Columbus and four of his
men on the deck of the Santa Maria pointing toward the "New
World." Black woven fabric is decorated with silver beads.
The interior is lined in leather, which is somewhat worn, and
is inscribed "Columbus" on the interior of the top.
It measures approximately 4" long and 3" wide. Some
of the beads on the back are rusted, as can be seen in the picture
above. Despite this minor flaw this scarce piece would make a
wonderful addition to the collection of anyone with a serious
interest in the Columbian Exposition of 1893. (Stock number 003wfPurse)
