El Caudillo Segars Cardboard Advertising Sign
El Caudillo, the Chieftain, is the symbol for the "Quality"
5 cent Segars produced by Boltz, Clymer & Co. The company,
based in Pennsylvania with a factory in Ybor City, Florida, guaranteed
the quality of every cigar. The image bears a striking resemblance
to General Francisco Franco long reigning Dictator of Spain but
we are not absolutely certain that it is him. The figure who
appears in this proof for an advertising sign is resplendent in
his blue uniform, pink bows and a chest full of medals. The sign
measures 18" x 22" The cardboard sign has some small
