J-A Cigars "It's a Boy" or "It's a Girl"
printed on cellophane - No extra charge. Not so very long
ago proud fathers passed out cigars to their friends to celebrate
the birth of a child. Although these generally were not the finest
cigars on the market they would print the sex of the child on
the wrapper in case the new papa forgot. On the sign a stork is
shown delivering the box of cigars. 12.75" x 18.5" The
cardboard sign has some folds, staining, and edge rubbing. It
is still an interesting advertising piece that captures an aspect
of American culture that has passed into oblivion. (Stock number
