William McKinley Campaign Plate

William McKinley, the twenty-fifth president of the United States, ran on a platform of tariff protection and opposition to free silver. Under his administration after the Spanish-American War (1898) the United States acquired Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Philippines, annexed Hawaii, Wake Island and Samoa. He was elected to two terms, 1896 and 1900. He was assassinated by Leon Czolgosz, an anarchist, while attending the Pan-American exposition in Buffalo in 1901. The plate is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. 8.5" diameter. (Stock number 003McKinley1) $100.00

Identical to above plate but with several condition problems. The plate had been broken into three pieces which were then glued back together. There is extensive crazing and staining. (Stock number 003McKinley2) $45.00
