An Assortment of Collectible Sheet Music

The history of America can be told in song as well as story. Historical events, cultural trends, romance, theatre and film, children's songs, silly and humorous songs, and popular songs have all been recorded for posterity. The cover of a piece of sheet music containing the lyrics and music of great and not so great composers could be as plain as straight text or artistic in its own right. Original drawings or photos, some by renowned illustrators and artists, were quite common. We are offering a selection of sheet music that spans the first half of the 20th century. Many songs are familiar to everyone, others somewhat more obscure. We have tried to picture a selection of those with interesting covers. We will be updating this page frequently. If you don't see what you are looking for bookmark the page and check back periodically.
