Admiral Robert Byrd's Antarctic Expedition Commemorative Plate
Admiral Richard E. Byrd established Little America on his
first expedition to Antarctica in November 1929. He led four more
expeditions there and his discoveries became the basis for U.S.
territorial claims in the Antarctic.
Our attractive commemorative plate depicts "The City
of New York", a sailing ship, and the phrase "Byrd Antarctic
Expedition I", a penguin, a sled dog and a plane reading
"Byrd Antarctic Expedition."
The 9.75" plate is marked "Fraunfelter China Ohio,
U.S.A. - 1933." The plate is in excellent condition with
no chips or cracks. (Stock number 003SPole) $75.00
