Vindex Cigar - Actress Advertising Photographs - 19th Century
Here is a group of large cigar store advertisements or premiums.
From the mid - late 19th century, Actresses and pretty women
were favored subjects for tobacco promotions. These larger photos
are similar to the many cigarette package insert tobacco cards
of the period. Vindex cigars were manufactured in Reading PA.
The photos are approx 5.75" x 9.25". They have been
mounted on a 7.5: x 13: Vindex cigar back, They have been fromed
with a gold colored wood frame. Some minor creases on backing
card, Age spots on the photos. Some loss of gold and scratches
on the frames. These four photographs are being sold as a group.
