Japanned Decorated Tin Spice Box
Japanned
tin spice box contains six round containers stenciled with
the name of a spice. The top is heavily stamped, japanned and
decorated. There is a small collapsing handle on the hinged top
with a hasp closing. The tins are labeled "Allspice",
"Mace, "Ginger", "Nutmeg", "Cloves"
and one with no visible lettering. It measures approximately 9"
L. x 6.5 W. x 3.25" H. The copper colored tins measure 3"
in diameter and 2.25" H. Some of the paint is scraped, particularly
on the raised part of the lid, The tins have some paint loss and
