Pouplard established his Mallicorne factory in the last 25 years of the 18th century west of Paris. He made reproductions of the Quimper patterns. He marked his wares with PBx. Pourquiere-Beau brought suit against Pouplard and when the suit was settled in 1897 Pouplard was forced to discontinue his breton peasant line.
Nowadays when we find Mallicorne pottery it commands a price consistant with its pre-1897 origin.
