New York Beauty Quilt

The name "New York Beauty" belies the actual mood of this visually engaging quilt. More rural southwestern than urban northeastern it evokes the look and feel of the desert. Bright red pieces with blue accents rest on a pale red sandstone background. The back is also the red sandstone color. We know that it was pieced and quilted by hand sometime during the 1920s.
