Howdy Doody Marionette
Howdy Doody, was television for those of us
who grew up in the 1950's. Our Peter Puppet Playthings marionette
closely resembles the original Howdy. It is approximately 16"
tall. He wears a plaid flannel shirt in red, green yellow and
beige, a blue neckerchief, blue pants, and his signature red and
white cowboy boots with "HD" on them. The composition
head has red painted hair, painted on eyes, and freckles. The
string that operates his mouth is broken. The hands and feet are
also composition. His clothes are somewhat faded and the face
is lightly soiled. Still a wonderful reminder of life in simpler
