Edgar Bergen's Charlie McCarthy Cardboard Ventriloquist's
Dummy
Edgar Bergen and his dummy Charlie McCarthy
provided audiences with decades of humor. Starting in vaudeville
then moving on to radio and eventually television the irascible
Charlie feuded and flirted with celebrities. This die-cut is made
of heavy cardboard, shaped like a doll, and has built in folds
for the doll to sit on your lap. It also has a mechanical back
to move the mouth and eyes. A real nice feature! It shows some
slight wear, but is still functional. (EX+). This was distributed
as a premium by their sponsor - Chase and Sanborn Coffee in 1938.
21" long. (Stock number 003CharlieDC) $125.00
