Captain Hook Marionette
Sir James M. Barrie's classic children's story "Peter
Pan" was given new life in 1953 when Disney released its
full length animated feature. The appealing story of Peter Pan,
the boy who wouldn't grow up and his friends Wendy and Tinkerbell
continue to captivate us. Captain Hook, the villain we
love to hate, has been recreated as a marionette, hook and all
in the 1950's by Peter Puppet Playthings. The 16" tall figure
has a composition head, hand, and feet. His felt jacket and hat
are worn and stained and there is some crazing on the feet. The
back of the head has a few areas that are chipped and the color
rubbed off. The fabric around his neck is frayed. Yet he is still
a very appealing puppet and a very affordable piece of Disneyana.
